Electricladyland - The fashion creators

Gloria aspires to be like Halle Berry. She wants to be Bond’s leading lady someday. Her mother thinks that she is very childish and immature to have inculcated such dreams. She also thinks that this will fade away with time and maturity. She always complains to her parents for not buying her the trendiest of clothes, shoes and jewelry. She styles her hair differently, but to her despair she finds that her clothes and shoes are not matching with the hair style when she looks through the mirror. Her father is running a prosperous business and can afford to provide her daughter with celebrity endorsed brands from pronounced stores. This fact is more annoying to Gloria.

The school authorities complained against her for irregular attendance. She used to visit fashion shows regularly without going to school. Two years passed. She had now got acquainted with some reputed models and fashion photographers. She had a challenging personality and dusky looks. One of the photographers informed her that Electric Lady Land, a leading stores for dresses, shoes and jewelry for men and women are going to sponsor advertisements for which they need a fresh face. Gloria had always wanted to use gorgeous celebrity clothes and accessories since her early teen ages and now that time has come. But she was not a professional model. But she requested that photographer to make her a chance for the screenings. The selectors were shocked to see this new mermaid. No other female could carry their gorgeous dresses as Gloria did.


Gloria got the contract. This she concealed from her parents. Repeated ads in the newspapers came out soon. Few of them also reached their home. Her mother saw her own daughter’s photo but could not recognize her in such sophisticated dresses. She thought that her daughter could not have been successful while competing with such gorgeous models in the industry. Ting! Tong! The calling bell rang once. Her mother opened the door and found that the same model in the ad was standing before her. She hugged the old lady and addressed her as ‘Mamma’. She now recognized Gloria in a pair of

Her mother offered to buy Gloria more sophisticated clothes from Electric Lady Land. Gloria declined and said, “No mamma, I’ll get them by my own money, thanks”.
